Fiametta Salmoni

Fiammetta Salmoni was born in Naples in 1966 and lives in Rome. After graduating at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” with 110 cum laude, she has written numerous articles and essays on topical issues. In particular, she has worked on: the relationship between technique, law and politics, the principle of legality, populism and the principle of representation, the role of the Head of State, the welfare state, social rights and their protection in both the European Union and domestic law, the theory of counter-limits, public debt, the ESM, the European Banking Union and the Recovery Fund. She published in prestigious Italian and international scholarly journals and for several years has been actively studying economic-legal issues related to the relationship between Italian and supranational legal systems. She has carried out academic and research activities in various locations, including Spain, France and Brazil, and is now Full Professor of Institutions of Public Law at the University of Rome Guglielmo Marconi. Her major publications include the books: The Technical Standards; Financial Stability, European Banking Union and Italian Constitution; Recovery Fund, Conditionality and Public Debt. The Great Illusion (a book for which, on February 14, 2022, she won the ICEJC Prize de investigación en Derecho Crítico 2021 awarded by the Instituto Complutense de Estudios Jurídicos Críticos of Madrid); War or Peace.
