Lucia Scaffardi

Lucia Scaffardi is full professor of Public Comparative Law at the University of Parma, where she also teaches Italian and Comparative Constitutional Law in the Course of Political Science and International Relations. She carries out intensive research activities, focusing in the most recent years on: free and hate speech, the use of biometric and genetic data for law enforcement purposes and the challenges for fundamental rights; Novel Foods, edible insects and food security, with particular attention to the guarantee of sustainable food systems; the legal network between BRICS Countries, which also led to the creation and coordination of the BRICS Parma Research Group. Lucia is member of many scientific associations and of several law reviews’ scientific committee; she has also directed various national and regional research projects.
